Summer is coming to a close with the rainy season (and resumption of classes) just around the corner. Still, it will always be helpful to protect oneself from the harmful rays of the sun. I remember a couple of months ago my parents really started pestering my sister and I to buy sunglasses to protect our eyes. Our eyes have such an important function that we can't just ignore them and just stick to the good old sunscreen for our skin.

Fortunately, I stumbled upon one of my classmate's FB posts about a contest with Firmoo sunglasses as a prize. I've entered these contests before because I was amazed at my classmates' luck in winning various prizes but in the months that followed, I've never won anything. Imagine my surprise when I was informed (by the same classmate) that I was one of the winners!

I'm so glad that I got the sunglasses that I wanted, a Women's Full Frame Wrap Around Plastic Sunglasses (#OTO2560) in Purple and White

Here's the entire set I received. Not pictured is a small screwdriver and replacement screws. Amazing!

I love these Wrap Around Sunglasses from Firmoo! Their design provides better fit and eye protection.

Thanks again to Mish from LBD & Onesies and Firmoo for this giveaway! Looking forward for more! :D

Man, time sure flies so fast when one is busy! I thought my 1st year in medschool was quick but 2nd year is even quicker.

There's a possibility that sectioning for  3rd year will be via the alternate method, similar to last year's 3rd years (now clerks). Ugh. I have been accustomed to my 2C classmates and I really also miss my classmates from 1D. Still, I remember feeling apprehensive at changing sections from 1st year to 2nd year but that actually went well. Hopefully, whatever happens, it would be for the better, and third year would be as great or even better than 2nd year.

After last year's highly successful Project Prodyek 3 (Harmony in Diversity: The Project Prodyek Global Cycle), we knew we had to step it up a notch (or two) this year. The project head, Jacq, and subhead, Krizia were under a lot of pressure to come up with an exciting theme. A lot of ideas came up until the sisses finally agreed on this year's theme - Superheroines.

So what is Project Prodyek exactly?

Project Prodyek is a fashion design and pageant-type competition (similar to Project Runway) headed by members of Medical Union for Service during the MedWeek. It is an environmental oriented activity, as the participants' costumes should be made primarily from recycled materials.

Since this project aims to promote environmental awareness, it also involves a trash drive. The trash drive is a contest among the 10 sections in the College of Medicine of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

The project would not have been a success without the help of all the sisses, both active members, and alumni as well as the brods who helped in the technicals during the event.

Here are pictures of the awesome costumes made by each section in the College of Med:

1A's Batgirl

1B's Elektra

1C's Card Captor Sakura

1D's Wonderwoman

  2A's Emma Frost

 2B's Storm

2C's Sailormoon

2D's Hawk Girl

3A's Mystique

 3B's ZsaZsa Zaturnah

The Top 3 contestants

2nd runner-up Hawk Girl and 1st runner-up Sailormoon

The winner, Zsazsa Zaturnah

Really, the creativity of each section's costumes were astonishing!

This was such a long overdue post! This year's Project Prodyek was brilliant, but of course there's always still room for improvement. Can't wait for next year's event! :D
